Eddy Witte
The peacock among the birdie boys, I am 36 years old and I started playing golf because I liked to walk between the poops in my clothes. In the meantime, I look the same way. For me, golf is an indispensable part of my life rhythm and I play at least 3 times a week, so I like to run on the course. For me, golf is really relaxation and fun. At the moment I am running with hcp 12 and I am the winner of the winter competition of golf course de Texelse. My best hole is hole 9, a nice par 4 course where I hit an Eagle. This should not be confused with the flying eagles that I like to beat. I really think the Texel golf course is a beautiful course that you should definitely try.

The pigeon, I owe this name to the fact that I am quite difficult to keep on my nest. I prefer to fly around all day. I started playing golf because unfortunately there are no logging competitions on Texel yet, my whole attitude would suit this sport better. I like to walk in the meadow with the birdie boys and I am especially good to hear. After a few lessons I am now running with a hcp of 33 and will certainly eat a few more points from this. My most beautiful hole is hole 16 “the high mountain” it is just nice that you can hit the ball recklessly from a height without having to worry too much about where it falls. The hole I reluctantly start on is hole 18 because that is the last hole and I have to go home again. See you on the track.

Guus Hellinga
The duck among the birdie boys. They also call me Guus Geluk or Guus Flater. Usually I like to fly to the south when it suits me, but the love for the Birdieboys has ensured that I spread my wings a bit more on Texel. When I am not in the meadow I hang around the waterfront and practice my swing with my casting rod. I have hcp 15 and would like to have it a bit lower at the end of the year, but then I have to have a bit more luck. I think Hole 1 is the best course because I am in full view from the tee to the green and everyone can admire me well. The course I don't like to play on is hole 7 because the fishing in the slufter is always bad.

The owl among the birdie boys. This owl is easily recognized by its bald head. In the meadow I move silently towards the hole. In the morning twilight or in the evening you can also spot this special bird behind the lens to capture the perfect picture. Even though I am seen as smarter than the other animals, this is definitely not (always) true. I was able to give birth to 2 owl chicks and stole 2 more. Hole 5 de Loodsmansduin stimulates my senses to lie on the green in 2 strokes over the dune area.

Jari Van Maanen
The chick among the birdie boys. Both in terms of age and membership. I am 25 years old and have been working in Crimea since the beginning of this year. I started working on the golf course so actually destined to become a Flying Eagle. But thanks to good scouting work by 1 of the birdie boys I now belong to this great team. At a young age I had a lot of lessons with Andy Balsing, what he always emphasized in his training I still use in my game. Hole 4 is one of my favorite holes because I can combine my golf skills with my diving skills to find my balls in the ditch.

Karel Van Dee
The sandpiper among the Birdie boys. I owe this name because I like to hunt for fish along the waterline in my spare time. After having followed several lessons at golf school Texel, I have quite taken the swing. I am the driving force behind the creative solutions during the challenges we have played. My best hole is hole 18 because after my turn I imagine myself on the beach for a moment. My hole that left me with a nasty aftertaste is hole 2, not really around the course but more because the humpback whale often snips my fish and bait off the line. See you soon on the Texel.

Bas Den Braven
The hoopoe among the birdie boys. I owe this name to the fact that we have the same kind of crest, and because hops are also one of the basic ingredients of beer, which I like to use. After years of playing hockey at a fairly high level, I found out that I prefer to chase the ball alone instead of running after it all. After taking a few lessons with Robert-Jan I got the hang of the game quite well. I try to do a round in the meadow at least once a week with the other Birdieboys. I am the proud owner of 32 hcp and I definitely want to reduce it this year. My best course is hole 6 because there is also some roamer blood running through my veins. My bad course is hole 7 usually I want to go home before I get on the tee. See you soon on the Texel.
Erik Witte
The kingfisher among golfers. I'm the kind that doesn't show much. I started playing golf because I was too old to play marbles and my French was not good enough to play jeu de boules. I think it is a wonderful way to relax and I like to go for a walk through the meadow. The great thing about golf is playing against the elements, but for all against yourself. The track can be as long and wide, but most obstacles are between 6 inches from your left ear to your right ear. Hole 15 I think is a really terrible hole, it never ends.
